ALL ABOUT SALT CARE

The medical benefits of salt water in the home shower

The idea behind SALT CARE TM is to use a pure natural mined & shaped slowly dissolving Himalayan Crystal Salt Bar which is protectively enclosed in a soft patented application bag: Thus providing the medical benefits of salt water sea bathing in a convenient safe package suitable for everyday use in the home shower or bathroom.

FOR THE TREATMENT OF ECZEMA

- Why does your eczema improve at the beach after salt
water bathing
- Conventional treatments with steroidal-based creams
no longer as effective?
- Want to naturally reduce surface skin bacteria/infections
and body odour?

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Shower/bath yourself and dry skin with towel like normal.

2. Moisten SALT CARE TM yellow protective bag with warm water.

3. Hand 'squeeze out' concentrated SALT CARE TM solution directly onto eczema affected area.

4. Do NOT wash off solution, allow it to dry on skin, or'pat' dry.

On perforated or damaged skin a slight stinging sensation may be experienced due to the active ingredient sodium chloride.

The SALT CARE TM laboratory measured concentration for the salt solution 'squeezed' out of the dampened Salt Care Bag is 11% and thus giving it a three times greater antiseptic effect than sea water's normal 3.5% salt content.

We recommend individuals closely monitor their skin condition and modify their SALT CARE TM application methods to obtain maximum benefit for their individual skin condition.

MEDICAL SALT
In these modern times we have forgotten the ancient age-old natural skin healing/softening and antibacterial properties of 100% pure natural salt (sodium chloride).

Gargling or washing with salt water helps to kill bacteria and prevent infection. It also can soften/repair cracked or inflamed skin and prevent secondary infections.

How does salt kill bacteria?

The salt water sets up a hypertonic environment; water rushes out of bacterium by osmosis to the salt particles, thus killing the bacteria naturally by dehydration. Killing surface skin bacteria also gives natural body odour protection.

Sterile saline (salt water) is used widely in medicine to flush wounds and in modern chronic wound care salt impregnated absorbent dressings are used for chronic wounds like leg ulcers.

ECZEMA
Salt solutions can also be a useful additional/ maintenance treatment for eczema.

What does the
British Association of Dermatologists say about salt water treatments?

Quote - "there is no high quality evidence as yet showing that salt water baths are beneficial for atopic eczema sufferers. However there is a lot of anecdotal evidence suggesting that salt water baths may be helpful in clearing up eczema, especially if it is oozing a lot where secondary infections are common."
"It is a very common experience in our clinic for parents to tell us that their child's eczema improved when they swam in the sea on holiday."
"Sea water is a weak antiseptic and may well have a role in reducing the secondary infection which so commonly occurs in atopic eczema. It is possible that the salt water also helps to draw out excess fluid that has accumulated into little water blisters in the skin, as well as helping to heal any minor cuts and scratches."

"A number of UK dermatologists recommend regular salt baths to their patients with atopic eczema as part of their treatment plan."

However a lot of people find preparing salt baths too inconvenient when compared to sea bathing. This where SALT CARE TM brings the medical benefits of salt water bathing at three times the salt concentration of sea water, into the home shower.
